Dear Cathy,
Please accept my deepest condolences on the loss of your beloved mother, Beth. While I am sad that she is gone, I am glad to know that she lived to be 95.
How fortunate you are to have had such a talented mother. I never knew her history and only just learned about her experience dancing in A Star is Born, Oklahoma, Guy & Dolls and The Pajama Game. Those of us who had Mrs. Kent as our dance instructor never knew about her illustrious Hollywood history. How fortunate we were!
Every time I hear The Hollies, "Long, Cool Woman in Black Dress", I think of your mother. It was the first routine she taught the incoming Freshman class of 1977. I was thrilled to take dance at Louisville and loved every minute of it.
I always thought your were lucky to have learned dance from your mom. I am sad for your loss, Cathy, and hope that you can take comfort in your cherished memories and in knowing that she was proud of you. I will be keeping her, you and all your family in my thoughts and prayers.
