It was a beautiful celebration of one of the most incredible humans we’ve known. You will be sorely missed on this earth Terry. Thank you for all the love you showed us.

To Jan and your family. I am so sorry for the loss of Terry. You are all in my thoughts and prayers.
I remember the first time I met him, he was my 9th grade science teacher. He seemed to be a little shy, as I think he had just started teaching. I recall Jan and I giggling at the back of the class because he was cute! I never realized until years later that he and Jan married! JAN, YOU GO GIRL! May the memories of your life together bring a smile when you reflect on times gone by. He was a great teacher and I’m glad he found the love of his life- but I was there when they first met!!
God Bless!

What a beautiful tribute to your father. Like many others he had an outsized impact on my life path. He was my anamotmy/physiology teacher at NPHS (class of 1992). That class sparked my interest in biology. i went on to become a wildlife biologist working for a conservation organization for the last 28 years in Northern California. He had such a wonderful kind nature and so much joy. I will always remember him standing in front of class telling jokes (or a very detailed digestive track lesson on exactly what that pizza he ate the night before had done over the past 12 hours). That big smile would come across his face as he was tickled by his own jokes. He had the whole class laughing, hanging on every word- captivated- such a brilliant teacher. He gave the commencement address at our 1992 graduation that was really beautiful- all about embracing life, having the courage to go get it, and being kind to each other. He clearly embraced that, what a beautiful life lived.

Mr. Pardee was my anatomy/physiology teacher at NPHS in 1993. He is what all HS teachers should aspire to be. His class was tough but he inspired you to work hard. I can say his class prepared me for college more than any HS class I took. He even inspired me to major in biology and while that is not the path I ultimately took, I use anatomy in my profession daily. My condolences to his family and friends. He was a special teacher and inspired many!

I attended NPHS class of 1993 and Mr. Pardee was my physiology teacher. When I look back on my high school experience I always think of Mr. Pardee as my favorite teacher. He was funny, enthusiastic, and charismatic but most of all, his passion for the subjects he taught showed. He made science class interesting, fun, and a true learning experience where he challenged us all to be the best we could be. I was lucky enough to attend two of the Yosemite trips with him as our leader where I hiked, snowshoed, climbed rocks, and generally challenged myself to do things I had never though of accomplishing. His dedication as a teacher and his kindness as a human will never be forgotten. Thank you Mr. Pardee for your hard work and care for your students. Your memory will live on in all the lives you touched!

I can point to one teacher who was the most influential person in my career and life. Terry was my Biology, Chemistry, and Anatomy teacher from 1985-88. He was by far my favorite teacher and the one who opened my eyes to the possibilities of science as a career. Additionally, I remember him showing up to play tennis or volleyball with his students after school. Making connections with his students just came naturally. I am not the only one who would say he was our favorite teacher of all time.
We met again when a friend asked for help designing a lab for Ventura College. He was helping out a friend of his from their dojo. When we showed up to check out the lab the first words I heard was a familiar voice say “Jeff, what are you doing here?” Amazing that after 7 years he still remembered me. I went back year after year to help them with their labs just to sit and talk with Terry.
Fast forward to 2014, I left Amgen to become a high school science teacher. I wanted to have the same impact that Terry had on me and be there to inspire future scientists. Additionally, I recognize Terry in my teaching style. I try to make those same deep connections with all of my students that Terry did with me.

When I picture the essence of what an amazing teacher is, Mr. Pardee comes to mind. He truly made learning Anatomy and Physiology fun. It was almost like attending a comedy show twice a week. He loved what he did and it was obvious, because he got all of his students to love it too. I will never say or read "aldosterone" without hearing him pronounce it "al DO stare own" in my head. I went back to campus to see him years later and apologized for grumbling when he taught us the Kreb's cycle, because I now have to teach it to my Nursing students--a penance we both thought comical.
Pardee family, I am so truly sorry for your loss. Your Dad was an awesome human and one of the kindest, smartest people I've ever known. He shared his knowledge in a way many educators only dream of doing, and for that, I am so very grateful, as he helped me become the nurse I am today. I hope your memories of him bring you comfort during this difficult time.

This is how I'll remember him. His enjoyment of so many different things he loved doing and places he loved visiting. I am glad to have been called brother by him. He will be missed but always remembered. A good friend ready to help you if he could in a time of need.

In 2008-09, I took both anatomy and physiology courses with Mr. Pardee. In 2009, when my mother became ill and was dying, he urged me to go be with her. He assured me I could still pass the course which I did, but only because Terry helped me in his free time to catch up on all I had missed in those 10 days. He was a wonderful and patient instructor and human being. Thank you, Mr. Pardee.

I have so many amazing memories with Terry. I loved messing with him and say he could be replaced by a Goldfish, which we both knew wasn’t true. At one point he actually changed his WiFi to Grandpa Goldfish. He was an amazing person to talk to because of his perspective on life. We had so many laughs over the years!! He will be greatly missed!!

I will never forget Mr. Pardee. I think it was my sophomore year of high school so somewhere around 1982 that I had him for biology. He made learning fun. My funniest memory is that he promised somebody that they could have an A in his class if they ate the squid that we were working with, I’m pretty sure it was gonna be cooked but still nobody wanted to eat the squid. It may have been me who he offered that to but I was already getting an A lol. It was in his class that I also learned that I have blood type B+ and remember feeling disappointed that it wasn’t A. It’s odd that I can’t remember things that happened last week but when you have a teacher as special as Mr Pardee, you remember. My sincerest condolences to his family. And may he rest in eternal peace.
