Obituary of Dora Ann Webster

Dora Ann Webster was born July 24, 1931 in Stacy Fork, KY the middle of 6 children to Herbert & Beulah Carter. By age 5, facing the Great Depression, the family moved to Indiana hoping farm life would provide a better opportunity. In October 1948 while learning to drive, Dora was involved in a major car accident which pinned her under the car as it over turned. Although she spent 3 months of her senior year in a hospital with no physical therapy, as there was none those days, Dora managed to graduate with her class of 1949. On December 30, 1950 Dora married Ronald Webster whom she met in high school. On January 13, 1951 gave birth to their first child, Patty Jo Webster followed by their son Denny Eugene Webster on October 20, 1956 in Salem, IN. They divorced in 1974. Dora began work as a File Clerk for Liberty National Bank at age 17 and by 1974, was awarded disability medical retirement from Civil Service work with the Navy. On October 9, 1974 Dora became a grandmother by her daughter Patty to Nathan Allan Crutchley. On March 4, 1976 she again was awarded grandmother status to a “blue baby” Jason Crutchley, also Patty’s son. Jason was born with 4 congenital heart defects. On June 30, 1981, Dora’s son Denny and wife Gail welcomed grandchild #3, Levi Ian Webster. Dora felt much loss and heart ache in her life. The first, with her son Denny, on April 21,1985 after a fatal crash. On November 23, 1986 Dora’s first grandchild Nathan, while playing in a cave with another boy, caved in killing both. January 27, 2017 her daughter Patty had passed away. On January 28, 2019 Jason received a heart & liver transplant. Although Dora felt with so much loss in her life, she said her proudest moments include: her 2 healthy children whom gave her 3 amazing grandchildren. Watching her children complete their education and striving for success and careers. She was active and a member of Camarillo Christian Church where all her family was baptized. Dora was an avid golfer and belonged to the Saticoy Regional & Camarillo Springs Golf Clubs. She called Lesiure Village home for the last 20 years. Dora Ann Webster is survived by her grandchildren Jason Crutchley, Levi Webster, Sean Webster and great-grandchild Corbin Crutchley.
