Obituary of William Henry Schirmer

William “Bill” was born in Chicago, Illinois, to William and Dorris Schirmer. He was the oldest of their 2 children. Bill attended Proviso West High School in Chicago. In 1965 after graduation, he joined the United States Marine Corps on the buddy system with his friend Danny Jefferies. Immediately after boot camp as we were at war he was deployed to Vietnam. He proudly served in Vietnam for 13 months as a Field Radio Operator. Upon his return from his deployment he enrolled in college to pursue his Real Estate license. After becoming a successful Real Estate Agent, he ventured forward to become a Real Estate Broker opening Schirmer Real Estate in Carlsbad, California. In addition to his real estate career, Bill was licensed in California and Arizona as a certified Hearing Aid Dispenser. Bill served this community while working at Costco for many years. Bill leaves behind his wife of 17 years , Shana and his 2 children, Danny and Cherise and his 2 step-children, Jadiliana and Darius. A Celebration of Life will be held with his immediate family at the Bakersfield National Cemetery to honor his service to country.
